"Once More . . .

To my welcoming arms,

my love returns in splendor."

Heh heh, just kidding. A few lyrics from one of my favorite musicals.

So, to update from the last time that I posted something here:

-One of my best friends is getting married in a few short weeks

-School is almost out for the year

-I'm still job hunting

-I'm participating in NaNoWriMo (and kicking that 50000 word)

Um . . . other things . . .

I'm really looking forward to the new year. So much is going to happen next year and I can hardly wait!

Also, my birthday was last week, so I'm official (again). Well, I'm official enough to buy drinks (not that I drink. I don't. Why waste the time? I don't need to get hungover, I suffer enough without the added bonus of a headach.)

So, yeah.
EDIT: The pic is all for Rachel (Who I believe is the only one reading this). Remember that day? Our expressions are fabulous.

Once More

So, an update since my last post:

School is going better than expected (with a few exceptions as in my having no science book). I'm going farther out into left field, doing things I normally never would before. For instance, in my Acting 1 class I've volunteered to go first for readings, and today I was one of the first people to do an improv game (that was on accident by the way).

This past weekend I decided to try and find a movie I used to watch when I was a lot smaller. Needless to say the entire thing is posted on youtube. It's made these past few days a whole lot easier to cope with.

Anyway, there's a little update for those of you who read blogs like this.

Thank you,

Adieu.

Thank Goodness!

I started school again today!

I have never been more relieved to be at school in my entire life. This summer has been . . . endless! Some points were great: like going to Ohio and visiting my brother and sister-in-law and hanging out; going to community theatre shows; and, of course, working on film sets. But, like all things, there were parts that just wouldn't end! (People I have to deal with on a daily basis, rude comments, and not being able to leave because the car I normally drive was being used and trashed inside.)

So, for this semester I have a fantastic line-up:

Monday/Wednesday:

Jogging (which I have with an amazing theatre friend! Whoot!)

and,

Acting 1 (to which I'm a tad nervous, but today was only the lecture day/getting to know you day)

Tuesday/Thursday:

Physical Science (the one class that I'm uber paranoid about!)

Drawing 1 (I get to take this from a guy who goes to the same church as me! He's the director of the arts program at my college!)

Voice and Diction (another theatre class which, incidentally, I'm making up from the last director we had. The one we have now is a whole lot better.)

Art Appreciation (not really too concerned about this one, but we'll see tomorrow)

And, on top of all those I have Praticum, which is 40 hours of working behind the scenes.

Besides school, I've been applying for jobs around my general living vicinity. Right now I have an application in at Hobby Lobby, next I'm going to fill one out for Staples.

Whoo . . . that's all that I have to report for now.

Oh! The picture is of me from the Ren Festival this year. I <3>

And the Winner of the Award Is . . .

So, my two days of film-making are over. Or have they just begun?

This is a listing of what I did over the past two days. I took notes, just like I promised:

Day 1:
On set at F----- Studios for the new sitcom Drop Dead Diva
So, I was almost late this morning. Call time was at 8:45, I got lost a few times trying to find the road, but eventually found it. I got there, signed in, and went to have my clothes checked out by the wardrobe ladies (they were really nice and awesome!). After getting my wardrobe done for the two scenes were were going to do that day, I went back to where all the extras were waiting around to start filming.

And now, the bullets:

-At first it was pretty slow going, but that's normal for any show. There was only one girls' bathroom in the entire building - lame. :P
-We did a couple of takes already - basically boring.
-We grabbed a snack at the first break we had: a strawberry Special K Bar, then went to the restroom before the next take.
-Now all us extras are waiting it out in our spots for the next take in the courtroom scene: Jurors and Galley
-I'm hungry, a bit
-We're working with movie people, which are kind of like theatre people
-My extra is a reporter/writer
-And, from the top of the cue . . . . . of joyful happy day
-I can almost recite the entire scene now
-And here comes the part of the fall body
-"Pick it up from the fall" and here we go again!

Continuing On . . .

-Had a long break, ate some food, drank nice cold water
-Texted mom, read my book
-I'm not concerned with fritzes now, I did my side of the bargain, now it's up to the Lord for His half (Please don't ask about this. It's a personal matter)
Back on the Set
-It's fascinating, watching the actors - especially when they mess up their lives! ^^
-I will say, though, I'm getting sick of the words
-OH! So Funneh moment! Almost ruining a tragic scene
-Getting paid for connect-the-dots and tic-tac-toe! (Pictures on my notes)

More bored

Lunch:
- Felt fritzy, ate little

After lunch:
-Filmed scene
-Break-ate food
-Costume change
-Ate more food
-Back, waiting behind the scenes
-I was just in another "background" scene - all because my shoes are flat!
-Talked with older dude whose playing a bailiff - he's making a movie - and told me some movie terms, like where the word Gaffer really comes from

Continued:

-Back to munch
-On set - Whitney (another girl whom I know from church) and I got to walk behind an exceedingly Tall guy, Cody (No joke, he's like 6'4)
-Learned one character in show played the dad in Au Pair, called mom
-Lots of tall and short jokes (see note above with Tall Guy)
-Back to the "holding cell" (area where us extras have to wait around)
-Phone call to mom, again
-Reading Poetry book
-More Lemonade and cookies 7:42

Day 2:
I didn't get any sleep last night, or next to none. My stomach was acting up all evening. Anyway, after taking a shower I got to the studio around 8:45.

The Bullets:
-Signed in
-Got my wardrobe done
-Went to the restroom before the lines started
-Like the night before, I felt awful
-Did the first few scened - felt bad
-Half to hunger pains - almost
-The actors came up with a lot of interesting bloopers
-Hoping and praying I can make it through the day
-At first break I ate a danish and a half of another, and just now a little Reese's cup
-I'm almost afraid to eat anything, not wanting to throw up
-We're supposed to be going back to the set any minute now
-Back on the set and I'm trying not to think about my stomach
-I'm having the fritzes again (Again, Don't Ask)
-I'm also texting mom
-Doing the scene, still
-Forgot about Greg, the cat, I'll have to find a way to get to Shelia's to feed him
-And now my legs are beginning to hurt as well
-And Dragonflies now have a whole new meaning - is it hot in here? (We're thinking that maybe it was butterflies)
-Had lunch - mmmmm chocolate cake with whipped cream . . .
-Now we're back on set!
-It's all rather exciting.
-Did the scene - now back in "holding"
-Talk of random things (school, tests, Transformers, people)
-Back to the set, after bathroom break
-Run to set, at the back of the line with the two tall people (Andrew and Cody)
-More jokes about how short I am compared to them - me being overly sarcastic
-Did the scene
-Came back, called mom and talked
-Talking with Whitney, Rachel and Natasha
-Yummy candies! (For saving for later, not tonight)
-Honeydew melon - clothes talk/dress talk
-"Mo" is leaving - the guy who told all us extras what to do and where to go
-I-pod for some music, yay! Jekyll & Hyde
-Music off
-More random talking
-Took stuff back to Wardrobe
-Got voucher and . . .
-Released for the night

Well, that's about the long and short of it all. It was pretty exciting at times, while others it seemed to drag. But I now have another awesome job to put on my resume. And the best part is, I'm going to continue doing this all summer!

Thanks for stopping by, Adieu!

"Mr. Devill . . . " Just Kidding!

So, for the next two days I will be filming a movie as an extra.

I am uber excited!! I turned in the items requested (name, phone number, picture, availability, what-not) items this afternoon, then got the call later on. It came as a shock when the call came, and I had to adjust other things that were going on, but I got the job! I have to bring some different outfits, make-up and probably my own lunch for the next two days, but it will be a new and fun experience. I've never really acted much before so it will be interesting to see how nervous I am tomorrow.

I'll be going in not knowing anyone else there . . . which kinda freaks me out, but there's always a chance to meet new people. I'm calmed down from the "squeeing" and "excessive smiling and laughing" from earlier today. I can't wait for tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll be able to snab some shots of what I'll be doing with my cell phone. If I'm able to, I'll try and get some picture up.

Here's hoping I don't completely embarrass myself in the next two days!

Adieu, Cheri.

A Little Late, But Who's to Notice?

So . . .

In recent news:
- This semester of college ended last Thursday.
Thank goodness for the summer finally being here! No more worrying about classes!
- I went to the King Tut exhibit in Atlanta on Friday with my parents.
If you are in Georgia I recommend going to see this exhibit.
- Saturday I went with some friends to the Renaissance Festival.
The Pirate Auction was amazing as always, and the pictures we got from it were fantastic! The best game there: "Trust the Pirate!"
- Then there was a pool party shortly following the Ren. Fest.
Cool, relaxing water after walking around for multiple hours. And a hot tub!

As of today I'll have the house to myself since almost everyone who lives at my house will be either at work, school, or work.

That's all for my little update!

Along with the Show

I'm extremely tired this morning/afternoon. I've been working out spring show/musical down at my college and it's been a tad tiring. And fun. It's interesting to watch the show each night and see the differences in each show.

Along other lines, only two more weeks of classes! Well, actually, one more week of actual class time, then one week of exams. After that I'm off until the 27 of May, when summer classes start.

That's all for now.

Adieu.

The Beginning of it All

I decided to start my own little blog after seeing a few friends'.

For now . . . I've got nothing much else to say. Ok, actually I do, which is kind of weird.

A few weeks ago one of my theatre classes was taught by a candidate for the Director position. When he came in he asked our class how many shows we could list off the top of our heads. Shows that were not musicals, which led me to writing this little blog. Out of curosity, for those of you out there, how many can you name? I started my own little list on paper. One side was non-musical, the other was musical. It's interesting just how many more musicals there are than regular shows.

For now, adieu.
